Savvas received his degree in Computer Engineering from NTUA.

He has worked in startup companies since 2009 starting from the incubator of Facebook Fund in Palo Alto. He was a member of the team that contributed to the success of HealthLeap. He was the CTO of the Daily Secret team, while earlier he was Director of Technology (CTO) in Liberi Publications.

Το CruiseInn επιστρέφει για τέταρτη συνεχόμενη χρονιά και δέχεται αιτήσεις συμμετοχής έως τις 20 Μαΐου 2018 στο getcruiseinn.com!

Το CruiseInn, το πρώτο εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα επιχειρηματικότητας που πραγματοποιείται εν πλω για επιχειρηματίες, νέους επαγγελματίες και φοιτητές στην Ελλάδα, επιστρέφει ξανά φέτος για να προσφέρει μία νέα εμπειρία ταξιδεύοντας 7 ημέρες στο Αιγαίο με την υποστήριξη της Celestyal Cruises.

Φέτος, το Celestyal Crystal μετατρέπεται σε κρουαζιερόπλοιο καινοτομίας και σαλπάρει στις 2 Ιουλίου. Ξεκινώντας από το λιμάνι του Πειραιά, θα ταξιδέψει σε Μύκονο, Μήλο, Σαντορίνη, Ηράκλειο και Σάμο.

Στην κρουαζιέρα θα βρεθούν 55 συμμετέχοντες, νέοι επαγγελματίες που έχουν ξεκινήσει τα πρώτα τους επιχειρηματικά βήματα ή ετοιμάζονται να στελεχώσουν τις Ελληνικές επιχειρήσεις. Στους προορισμούς θα γίνει διασύνδεση με τα τοπικά οικοσυστήματα καινοτομίας με σκοπό να δημιουργηθούν συνέργειες μεταξύ των συμμετεχόντων και της τοπικής επιχειρηματικής κοινότητας στους κλάδους του Τουρισμού, της Γαστρονομίας, της Ναυτιλίας και της Τεχνολογίας.

Από σήμερα το CruiseInn δέχεται αιτήσεις συμμετοχής έως και τις 20 Μαΐου. Αν, λοιπόν, έχεις ξεκινήσει τη δική σου startup και χρειάζεσαι τα απαραίτητα εφόδια για να προχωρήσεις στην περαιτέρω ανάπτυξη – βελτίωση της, έχεις κάνει τα πρώτα σου επαγγελματικά βήματα στον κόσμο των επιχειρήσεων και αναζητείς στοχευμένη γνώση και δικτύωση με άλλους επαγγελματίες και επιχειρήσεις δήλωσε συμμετοχή στο getcruiseinn.com!

Το κόστος συμμετοχής ανέρχεται σε 320 ευρώ και, εκτός από τη συμμετοχή στα εκπαιδευτικά σεμινάρια και τη διαγωνιστική διαδικασία, καλύπτει το κόστος της κρουαζιέρας, διαμονή, πλήρη διατροφή, πακέτο ποτών  εντός του Celestyal Crystal, λιμενικά τέλη, φιλοδωρήματα και δύο εκδρομές.

Οι συμμετέχοντες που θα σαλπάρουν με το CruiseInn θα επιλεγούν μετά από διαδικασία αξιολόγησης. Εάν επιλεγείς θα έχεις την ευκαιρία να παρακολουθήσεις εξειδικευμένα τεχνικά workshops, βιωματικές ομιλίες από διακεκριμένους επαγγελματίες καθώς και να διαγωνιστεί μόνος σου ή σε ομάδες στα ανατρεπτικά challenges που έχουμε ετοιμάσει για φέτος διεκδικώντας τα χρηματικά έπαθλα ύψους 3.000 ευρώ, προσφορά της Celestyal Cruises.

Exams are about to end, summer is near and with it summer holidays are coming along. Sea, sun and relaxation combined with three months without obligations, certainly form a wonderful environment for each and every one of us. But for those of you who are a little bit more active and want to do something more creative and business, this summer CruiseInn, the first startup hackathon that also combines a unique cruise on the Aegean Sea, is coming back!

Seven fascinating destinations, three thematic categories directly related to the business world and of course the guidance of mentors and judges combined with lots of prizes, definitely form the best environment to turn your idea into action.

Summer has always been considered as a period of rest, in which we should all recharge our batteries and enjoy sea, friends and sun. Ok I get it, everyone wants to party and sunbathing but be carefull! You have three free months! Three months without classes or responsibilities and you have to make those months count. We, as students, should always look for potentials, even in our breaks, so here are a couple of things you can do, in order not to spend you whole summer in the sunbed.

1. Read books

I know that this might seems a little typical and boring but it’s true. If you want to succeed and make things on your own despite the experiential knowledge, which I know how important it is, you should also have theoretical knowledge. Where can you find that? In books of course! Read about beginnings and success stories but most of all about failures and see what you like or don’t like. After every book you are not going to be the same person, trust me!

2. Attend entrepreneurship events

It is true that everything stops in the summer, as everyone wants to go on vacation. But don’t be deceived! There are always great events going on around our country. Try to find start-up competitions, lectures from people in the field and gain experiences. Take some time off the parties and do your research. Furthermore, you may enjoy it more, as you will not have anything to concern about.

3. Make a plan

As simple as that sounds, a plan always helps you to organize your next steps. Relax, clear your mind, take a cup of coffee and sit down. Search about the upcoming events and competitions and decide what you want to do. Which are your goals? What is it that you haven’t done? What do you want to achieve? If you have all those things written, they will be easier to be done.

4. Be a guest traveler at CruiseInn!

Last but not least! CruiseInn, the first 7-day hackathon that takes place in an actual cruise ship sailing around the Aegean Sea, finally opens its doors to all of you who want to live the whole ‘’CruiseInn Experience’’ without having to compete. Do you want to get connected with the local ecosystems and have the opportunity to talk with the awesome mentors and judges? Then I think that this will be the best journey for you.

We are happy to announce that our screening process is over! We have received more than 150 applications and after a thorough assessment we selected our next super sailors!

It was harder than you think!

We tried to bring on board people with quality and matching skills, valid startup ideas, aspiring entrepreneurs with passion and commitment to proceed with their projects after CruiseInn 2017 ends.

Some of our selection criteria were the following:

  • Strategic Thinking is an asset! We want people who exploit their mental abilities through complex thinking processes. Through our hackathon there are many challenges and believing that you can achieve success is definitely a must.
  • We need business oriented people who think about how to find solutions in a real market. Participants who feel like business acumen.
  • We love tech geeks, who will shape their idea with their technical skills!
  • We love passionate and creative people, who have no limits, and they think Out of the Box.
  • Last but not least, team working is a necessary skill. We need a variety of students and experienced young professionals that will combine experience, skills, passion to make ideas happen and continue their project after CruiseInn 2017 ends.

Get CruiseInn and Claim a Scholarship for the FT i-MBA program!

CruiseInn is sailing this June, 23-29, for a third year in a row and is ready to offer a unique entrepreneurial experience. This year, AUEB MBA International offers a full scholarship for its Full-Time program to one participant!

As for the scholarship prize, all 35 participants can submit their application to attend the Innovation & Entrepreneurship major of the i-MBA Full-time program for the academic year 2017-2018. The scholarship will cover all i-MBA tuition fees (equal to 12,000€).

Attending the “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” Major of the i- MBA Full-time program, recipients of the scholarships will acquire the technical, business and personality skills and knowledge necessary for a successful business venture. In the context of their Immersion Project, after completion of all the courses, they will also have the opportunity to work 100% of their time on their new venture.

Applicants should follow the formal procedure for admission to the program and submit their application form along with the respective documents to the program’s secretariat (47A Evelpidon Str. & 33, Lefkados Str., GR 11362, Athens, Greece, room 805), by June 9th, 2017, with the label “CruiseInn 2017 Scholarship”.

5 Things to Be Careful of When Coding Under the Sun

Summer is near and we should all start planning our vacation. So developers attention! Get out of your geek ‘’caves’’, get your laptop with you and get ready to have the time of your lives.

Whether you decide to go to a crowded island full of beach bars and parties or an alternative one with the best spots for camping, there are always some things you should be careful of when coding under the sun, because we are sure that you are not gonna stop even on your vacation.

1. Wear a hat
How many times has your mum reminded you to take your hat with you before going on vacation?  Come on…admit it! You didn’t even listen to her once or if you did and you actually took that hat with you, it has been left in your suitcase. Typical student! Hats not only protect us from being burned but also from being sunstroke. Despite all these, a hat adds style whether you are a boy or a girl, so put a hat on and enjoy the sea.

2. Put some sunscreen on
So. first step is the hat. Second step is the sunscreen. Don’t be afraid of having white splashes on your body and have your own sunscreen everywhere you go. Not only it protects you from the sun but also helps your skin to stay young. Choose the one best for you and get ready for amazing dives!

3. Don’t too much sunbathe
Ok we get it! You want to be tanned in the summer. But don’t overdo it. First of all tanning isn’t for everyone and second of all too much of it is never good. Take some time off, get under your umbrella, and continue coding 100% protected from the sun.

4. Drink lots of liquids
Whether this will be water, juice, ice tea or something else, liquids always help with the heat and hydrate your whole body. The best tip is to always have with you a bottle of water which i am sure that you are gonna need. A small note: Mojito, Martini and other cocktails are considered as liquids only after the sunset, and if you’re planning on putting them in your daily vacation plan, do so responsibly and in moderation.

5. Don’t stay ashore
Imagine being able to combine your vacation with a 7-day hackathon. To have fun and also be creative. Yes, this is an actual thing and it’s called CruiseInn.
