Terms and Conditions of Participation at CruiseINN 2017
The company named “JT Pro Private Company” located in 56 Kifissias Avenue, Marousi, Attica, 15125, Greece in collaboration with “ThinkBiz” Entrepreneurship Student Association, based in Athens, 76 Patission str., called thereafter as Organisers, taking the initiative to organize a joint action in order to encourage participation in the development of new and innovative ideas relating to the field of tourism, culture and gastronomy, hereinafter referred to as the Contest.
The Contest is consisted of two phases. Phase A refers to the pre-cruise applications period. Phase B refers to the on-board period, in which only selected participants after the evaluation of Phase A will be able to participate.
The purpose of this document is to define the terms and conditions for the participation of stakeholders who wish to participate in the competition and the process by which the winners under the Competition Participants will emerge hereinafter.
A. Rights and Conditions of Participation
Participants are required to read the terms carefully before this record and submit their proposal.
Participation in the Competition implies the unconditional acceptance of all the terms of the competition and the commitment of the participants.
Participation in the competition and information on the Contest will be made exclusively on the Contest page.
The proposals are accepted exclusively in Greek and English.
Participants in the Competition shall have full and exclusive responsibility vesting or any other protection of the proposals submitted and the rights deriving therefrom.
Interested parties may participate in the competition individually.
The Organizers may at any stage of the competition request the relevant documents (identity card, passport, registration, etc.) to verify participants’ data in accordance with the above conditions.
In case of misrepresentation, the Organisers bear no responsibility and shall maintain the right to cancel participation at any stage of the competition.
Any paper or other material – part of the proposal submitted as part of the competition will not be returned in any case.
Any costs of preparation of proposals received in the competition (eg layouts cost, pilot etc.) borne exclusively Participants.
A participation to be considered valid must:
Visit the site of www.cruiseinn.gr, fill out and submit the online application form.
Be interviewed by the Organisers
Deposit the total application amount of the participation fee on the available bank accounts and send the deposit slip to e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
B. Declarations – Guarantees – Liability of Participants In Contest
Each participant represents and warrants that the proposal submitted in the Contest is submitted legally and under the terms of the competition and is original.
Each participant bears sole and full responsibility towards the organizers and all others for the proposal submitted and the accuracy of the data indicates.
Each participant represents and warrants that the proposal presented has been produced by him and belonging exclusively to him and that it retains the right to use, disposal and exploitation of. Each participant also guarantees that the proposal does not violate intellectual property rights or other rights of any person or entity in Greece or abroad, otherwise it is the beneficiary and / or that have legitimately acquired any kind of rights, including, without limitation, intellectual property rights of others persons and all related legal permits or used for the production of motion filed in the Competition.
Each participant acknowledges that it is required to undertake any claim raised by the Organisers and release the Organizers and their employees and agents from any liability for damages of any kind costs or expenses or claims by third parties that may arise from violations of the Competition Terms or rights of third parties such as but not limited to intellectual property rights.
Any announcement regarding the Competition as indicative notices of the results of each phase as well as any other matter relating to the organization of matter suspended solely on the Contest website, effective from the date of placing it on that website.
The Organizers have the right without prior notice to modify the terms of the competition or to postpone the process at any stage or to cancel the contest, making retrofitted to announcements on the website and without the Organisers’ responsibility towards participants in the Contest or any third.
C. Evaluation of Proposals
Evaluation Process in Phase A
The evaluation of the proposals is based on academic criteria set by Organisers and professionals active in the areas of information technology and tourism. All evaluators before making business plans, are bound by the confidentiality agreement signed as part of the Contest.
The evaluation of proposals submitted by the Special Submission Form will be undertaken by the Evaluation Committee; Assessment Phase A, will start right after the participation request submission.
The identity of each participant is known to the evaluators.
The Evaluation Committee evaluates and selects the best teams based on specific criteria:
the value that the idea to solve specific needs / challenges
the novelty of the proposal
the maturity and the degree of realization of the idea
the development and sustainability of the service perspective
the socioeconomic impact of the service
extroversion and Greek added value
the skills of the applicant
the experience of the applicant
Each proposal will be graded by two (2) assessors. The final score (on a scale 1-10) will result from the average of two (2) assessors.
Organizers will communicate the qualifiers their selection by e-mail and as well inform the other participants of non-qualification. The Organizers will not make announcement of evaluators data, evaluation and classification points of the proposals submitted throughout the course of the competition.
Evaluation Process in Phase B
In Phase B the participants will be requested to form teams and prepare their business model and a prototype or mockup for innovative service / product. In the second phase, the teams are invited to participate in a four-day event (CruiseInn) during which they will develop their business idea and / or business model and prototype with the help of qualified experts.
Upon completion of the event, the teams will be asked to prepare a presentation of their business proposal (model and prototype) which they will present to a committee of experts in tourism, innovation and entrepreneurship, e-business, IT and venture capital. The committee will evaluate the proposals and will come out with the ranking and winners.
Announcement of Winners
With the completion of Evaluation Committee’s meeting, results will be announced during the Event.
All awards will be announced on-board or earlier on Contest’s website
The exact dates for each stage of the competition will be announced by the Organisers through the Contest website.
For the smooth conduct of the Contest the following committees will work:
It consists of executives of the organizers. The responsibilities of the committee is the design and implementation of the competition and the organization of related promotional activities and events. Also responsible for any question relating to the promotion, and is not provided by these terms.
Consisting of executives of “Celestyal Cruises ΜΕΠΕ”, executives of other Sponsors, academic members of the Athens University of Economics and Business and other Specialists in Startups.
D. Privacy – Copyright
The management and protection of personal data of participant of the Competition is subject to these terms and the relevant provisions of the existing regulatory and legislative framework for the protection of individuals with regard to processing of personal data and confidentiality of communications.
Participation in the Contest implies the explicit and unconditional consent of the participant to register personal details, personal CV, the summary / descriptive paragraph – to publish the material as well as the finalists short resume in the second phase in a file which will be kept by them, the their treatment in accordance with Greek Law no. 2472/1997 as in force, by the Organisers and / or third party companies who collaborate with them for the conduct of the Competition, solely for the purpose of (Competition). The Participants declare that they agree to be recorded and filmed and / or / and / or and / or written mainly photographed or incorporated into a carrier material themselves and their business ideas in any way by the Organiser during all the contest stages, even and after the completion of this and grant the Promoter the right, free of any consideration paid for copyright or other rights, use, processing, transmission, broadcast via the website or through any other website belonging to the Organisers and / or by any other means including media networking their business ideas. Participants waive any right to remuneration and / or consideration for any of the uses.
The participants provide the Organisers express their consent in relation to the above entry, editing and publication of the data for the purpose of the competition in the above provisions, which it will make available to the organizers whenever requested. Participants waive any right to remuneration and / or consideration for any of the uses.
Also, the organizers may use the personal data of the participants to communicate and inform them on matters related to the Contest or similar Activities of the Organisers. The Participants reserve the right to information and opposition on the personal data concerning them, in accordance with Articles 11 and 13 of l. 2472/1997 on the protection of personal data, which must be submitted in writing to the Competition organization committee.
Each Participant represents and warrants that (a) the business idea with which participates in the Competition as a whole is its own creation and, therefore, no third parties own the intellectual and industrial property rights, including, without limitation, trademarks , property and moral rights, (b) any use, reproduction, transmission or presentation of this in the context of the Contest will not violate any third party rights; (c) that the work has no content (i) defamatory, offensive, threatening, racist , obscene or (ii) is not held in any way illegal or unfair; If the presence of such infringements, the Participants will bear the sole responsibility. The participants accept that Sponsors, other Participants, Organizers, Evaluation Committee Members have access to conclusions and business ideas that will result from the competitions and can inspire or implement ideas that are not claimed with any intellectual property rights without any obligation. Organizers have no obligation to attendees for protecting their ideas. Source code, intellectual property rights, including, without limitation, trademarks, property and moral rights belonging to the participants of the Contest are protected according to law.
Participants approve vessels, facilities and equipment of the Competition and accept and comply with the “General Terms and Passenger Carriage and Baggage” governing cruises and is available at http : //www.celestyalcruises.com/gr/category/terms-and-conditions-of-carriage/index.html.
F. Solving disputes – Applicable Law
In case of disagreement, dispute or controversy by a Participant in the Contest, on the interpretation and proper application of the term what the Contest, the Participant will be addressed before any judicial three-member committee consisting of representatives of the organizers, which will make a compromise attempt amicable settlement the dispute.
Any dispute, difference or dispute has been settled amicably by the above procedure and results from these Terms or related to them shall be resolved exclusively by the courts of Athens (excluding any other jurisdiction even shared) in accordance with Greek law.
G. Fee Payment and Refund Policy
CruiseInn will honor refunds up to 15 days before the event kickoff. We do not offer refunds later (due to the need to pre-purchase supplies). If your ticket is not eligible for a refund, we strongly suggest contacting the Organisers in order to pass by your ticket to someone else! Please send refund requests to email@example.com
H. Code of Conduct
The event is intended to be a collaborative forum for sharing, learning, building, and having fun. As such, by registering as a participant, you acknowledge that any ideas shared by you or anyone else over the course of the event are contributions to the overall experience and community. If you as a participant are worried about someone stealing your ideas, please reconsider your participation in the event itself or simply refrain from sharing specifics about your idea. As a member of your startup community, you agree to to be inclusive of any and all people and their ideas. You agree to act professionally, treat everyone with respect, and treat the event facilities with proper care. You agree that you are responsible for any accidents or damages that you cause. You also agree to not hold Organisers, your local organizing team, or any of the event supporters liable for any loss, damage, injury, or any other unforeseeable incident.
